What can Dual Contour Passenger Airbag provide?
This innovative passenger airbag technology is designed for future vehicles with new interior designs. This adaptive module can address standard as well as new seating positions with increased distances to the instrument panel. Different cushion sizes can be released by ignition of TAU (Tether Activation Unit) .
- Adaptive cushion size, one cushion design can be used as a base bag for standard positions as well as a large bag for increased distances to the instrument panel
- Introducing PHI7 inflator technology cushion size up to 190 liter possible
- Dual Contour airbag can address various load cases in driving, as well as in relaxed / comfort positions
- Compatible with standard passenger airbag technologies (folding, ABV, …)
- Especially applicable for future interior designs connected to increased vehicle automation levels
